This opening session offers a detailed exploration of artificial intelligence in the context of higher education. Participants will discover the foundations of generative AI, including how LLMs work and their current applications, as well as their implications for teaching and learning.
The workshop provides an opportunity to address essential questions related to the presence of these technologies in our teaching practices and will present the main tools currently available: ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, and Gemini.
Objectives
Identify the key concepts of generative artificial intelligence and understand how they work (LLMs, etc.).
Understand the challenges and implications of AI for pedagogical practices in higher education.
Explore available AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, Gemini) and assess their potential for teaching.
