The SUR Programme 2025 hosts about 15 undergraduate biology or medical students from around the world to pursue an independent lab-based research project over the course of eight weeks. At the end of the summer, students present the results of their research in a poster symposium and submit a written report. Students also attend weekly academic and social activities. A scholarship is awarded to all selected participants that pays for travel to and from Lausanne from the country of the student’s university, accommodation and food.
- The programme is geared towards students in biology, medicine or a related discipline with a strong focus on biological sciences.
- Eligible applicants will have completed two years of bachelor's degree (and will be enrolling in their third year) at the time of the programme.
- Having prior research experience is not a selection criteria.
- Note that we consider study in biology and medicine broadly, but applicants engaged in studies in physical therapy, nursery, kinesiology, dentistry or veterinary science will not be considered.
Applications must comprise a filled in online form and the upload of:
- A document in PDF format providing information that will be used in the selection process. Please use the template (SUR Programme 2025 application questionnaire) available on our website.
