The role of thesis supervisor is only one of the many responsibilities of professors and senior researchers. It is a role central however, to the life and career of the young researchers under their supervision. In addition to guiding and training in the various stages of a research project, thesis supervisors are often the first point of contact for career-related issues.
Over coffee and croissants, we will examine the role of thesis supervisors in the professional development of doctoral candidates. The session will be led by Dr. Isabelle Skakni, Head of the Academic Succession and Careers Unit, HES-SO Rectorate, and by Dr. Verity Elston, Co-Director of the Graduate Campus UNIL.
The main language of the workshop is French. Participants are free to ask questions in English, and small groups will be organised in English wherever possible.
