This introductory training course (2h30), available to UNIL researchers, aims to familiarize them with the basics of copyright applied to software as well as good practice in Open-Source publishing.
No prerequisites are necessary: this training is designed to help participants understand the legal and ethical issues involved in distributing scientific software and open publications.
This course combines fundamental concepts with practical feedback, to help researchers navigate the world of copyright and Open Source with confidence, and understand the legal and practical aspects of research software, Open Source licenses and good Open-Source publishing practices.
